Requirements Before Downloading Gen1Recomp

You need the Gen1Recomp build for your device and a compatible user-supplied Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver or Crystal ROM. Red, Blue and Yellow are the established Gen 1 games. Gold, Silver and Crystal use the developing Gen 2 engine and remain Phase 1 support; Crystal is labelled Beta. VoxelMod is required only for the Red, Blue and Yellow 3D presentation covered by this website.

The Gen1Recomp cards above link directly to its official GitHub release files. The VoxelMod card opens the archive page containing all community-provided version links. This website does not host the downloads or provide Pokémon ROMs.

Choosing the Correct File

• Windows or macOS: choose the ZIP labelled for your desktop system.
• Linux x86_64: choose the AppImage for a portable executable or the Flatpak bundle for a local Flatpak installation. The previous Linux ZIP is no longer part of the v0.2.57 assets.
• Linux ARM64: choose the ARM64 AppImage only when it matches the device architecture.
• Android: install the APK if your device permits apps from the selected source, then use the Android setup guide.
• iPhone or iPad: the IPA requires a separate sideloading method.
• Nintendo Switch: use the SD-ready ZIP only on a console that can run Homebrew. Extract it at the microSD root and follow the Nintendo Switch setup guide; title override is required.
• Xbox: use the UWP ZIP on an Xbox One or Xbox Series console in Developer Mode, then install it through Xbox Device Portal. It does not work in retail mode.
• Anbernic RG34XXSP: use the Stock OS 64-bit MOD file only for the named target.
• ARM Linux SBC / PortMaster: use the PortMaster ZIP only with a compatible ARM Linux handheld or SBC setup. Device and firmware support can vary.
• LÖVE package: choose the .love file only if you already use a compatible LÖVE 11.x runtime.
• Voxel graphics: use the VoxelMod card above, choose one version or maintained alternative and keep its installable ZIP compressed for import.

Online battles, spectators, tournaments and trades are built into the same Gen1Recomp download; there is no separate Online package.

Updating Gen1Recomp or VoxelMod

Back up saves before changing versions. Packaged builds can check for a newer verified .love payload in the launcher; a native-shell change still requires the full platform package. Restart after an in-place payload download so it can be applied. Update one project at a time, confirm that the base game still launches, then re-enable and test VoxelMod.
